Michael (Brett Dier)  and Jane's (Gina Rodriguez) financial problems continue in the latest instalment of "Jane The Virgin." In Season 2 episode 20 of the dramedy series, Jane's job is in jeopardy, while Michael doesn't have a clear ambition.

Jane and Michael have a realistic conversation about their future and this makes the waitress happy and unhappy at the same time. Mike, who has landed a new job as chief of security for Rogelio (Jaime Camil), says it's temporary, but this makes Jane question her priorities.

She is touched by Michael's effort but worries about running a household on two measly incomes. Jane's fears are not completely unfounded though. The upcoming episode reveals the complications surrounding Jane's job security.

In "Chapter 42" of the CW TV show, Petra (Yael Grobglas) and Aneska launch their mission to ruin Jane's life. Their plan includes exposing Jane's other job as the writer of academic essays. This is a clear violation of the school's protocol and she could lose her job.

However, this will come as a shock to Jane, who doesn't realise that her prodigy at The Marbella is secretly planning to land her in trouble.

If Jane doesn't have a job at the end of the episode, Petra's hopes of one-upping Jane could finally succeed. But it isn't just her job that's threatened; Rafael (Justin Baldoni) could also lose his position in "Chapter 42."

The synopsis (via TV Guide) for the upcoming episode indicates that the owner of The Marbella could face legal problems. This is possibly due to his half-brother Derek's scheming. In episode 19, Derek made a suspicious call and gave his orders to damage Rafael's reputation. Could this be related to the hotelier's insider trading? What implications will this have on Rafael's family? This remains to be seen.

"Jane The Virgin" Season 2 episode 20 airs at 9 p.m. EST on the CW. You can stream the episode online via CWINGO.
