Barbados Tridents will lock horns with St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots in Match 14 of CPL 2016 at the Kensington Oval on Wednesday. This is almost a do-or-die match for the Patriots as they have lost four out of their first five matches.

Tridents are currently placed fourth in the CPL 2016 points table and if they manage to secure a victory against the struggling Patriots, they have a chance to climb up to third spot. If they win by a big margin, then the second place is up for grabs as well.

Tridents faced the Jamaica Tallawahs in their previous game with rain causing a washout. The two teams had to share a point each and, as a result, Tridents have three points from three games in CPL 2016 so far.

The crowd at the Kensington Oval will be hoping that they get a full match on Wednesday, unlike the last one.

Meanwhile, Faf du Plessis needs to step up with the bat as he has not had a great time with his willow in CPL 2016. Being the skipper of the St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots, the onus is on him to be leading the way.

However, Du Plessis, yet again, will be counting on two of his best batsmen in the squad - Evin Lewis and wicket-keeper Devon Thomas, who have manged to score 143 and 141 runs respectively in CPL 2016.

Expected playing XIBarbados Tridents: Steven Taylor, Shoaib Malik, AB de Villiers, Kieron Pollard (C), Nicholas Pooran (WK), Raymon Reifer, David Wiese, Wayne Parnell, Akeal Hosein, Imran Khan, Ravi Rampaul.

St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots: Lendl Simmons, Evin Lewis, Faf du Plessis (c), Jonathan Carter, Devon Thomas (wk), JJ Smuts, Shamarh Brooks, Krishmar Santokie, Samuel Badree, Tabraiz Shamsi.
