The release of the Telugu version of Vishal's "Kathakali" and Naga Shourya's "Kalyana Vaibhogame", which were scheduled to hit the screens on 22 January, have been postponed.

"Kathakali" is a Tamil action-thriller featuring Vishal and Catherine Tresa in the lead roles. The Pandiraj directorial venture was released in theatres in Tamil Nadu and other parts of the globe on 14 January as a Sankranti treat. The movie received positive response from the critics and the audience and it has become a decent grosser at the box office.

Vishal has a huge fan base in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and his fans are eagerly waiting to watch "Kathakali", which has been dubbed and released in Telugu with the same name. The makers have planned to release its Telugu version to cash in on the craze, but now they are forced to delay it.

The buzz on social media is that the release of the Telugu version of "Kathakali" was postponed due to the delay in the process of the Regional Censor Board. It is expected to be released in theatres on 29 January. Andhra Box Office tweeted, "Only Notable Film scheduled for 22nd, #Kathakali Post-poned due to Censor Delay. Free Run for #Sankranthi Releases!"

"Kalyana Vaibhogame" is a family drama that has been written and directed by BV Nandini Reddy and produced by KL Damodar Prasad. Naga Shourya and Malvika Nair are playing the lead roles in the movie, which features Kalyan Koduri's music and Lakshmi Bhoopal's dialogues.

"Kalyana Vaibhogame" was slated to hit the screens this Friday. But sources from the industry claim that the producers did not find enough number of theatres for the movie as the Sankranti releases have occupied the maximum screens. Hence, the makers have deferred it by two weeks and planned to release it on 5 February.

However, there are no new big Telugu releases this week. Last week's releases like "Nannaku Preamtho", "Soggade Chinni Nayana", "Dictator" and "Express Raja" will continue to entertain the Telugu audiences this week too.
