Vijay's "Theri" will complete 100 days in theatres on July 22. The Kollywood movie was released on the occasion of Tamil New Year on April 14.

"Theri" is the biggest Tamil hit at the box office so far this year. The film has earned good profits for the producer, distributors and exhibitors. After getting fairly positive reviews, the film collected Rs. 13.1 crore from 425 screens in Tamil Nadu and minted Rs. 28.96 crore from the global box office on its first day.

The movie was successful in attracting family audience and that helped the film to mint Rs. 85.36 crore at the worldwide box office in its opening weekend. In Tamil Nadu, it earned Rs. 35.32 crore. The movie grossed over Rs. 100 crore in its first week itself.

In the next few weeks, "Theri" continued to hold well and the movie ended up earning over Rs. 150 crore worldwide so far. The Tamil film has done well in overseas centres like the U.S., France, the U.K., Australia and Malaysia, apart from performing well in Kerala and Karnataka.

It was released in 31 countries abroad in over 500 screens.

Produced by Kalaipuli S Dhanu, "Theri" has Samantha and Amy Jackson as the female leads. Mahendran plays the antagonist in the Tamil film. KS Ravikumar, Raadhikaa Sarathkumar, Rajendran, Kaali Venkat and TM Karthik are among the other cast.

It is interesting to note that "Theri" is completing 100 days on the day Rajinikanth's "Kabali" hits the screens. The Rajinikanth-starrer is likely to shatter all the records set by the Vijay's film at the box office.
