From Vijay's 'Kaththi' to Vishal's 'Poojai': Motion Posters Latest Trend in Kollywood? [VIDEOS]

Motion Posters seem to be the latest trend in Kollywood. Besides first-look posters, film-makers also release the motion posters with impressive background scores.

Bollywood has been following the trend of releasing motion posters for the last few years. In the recent times, there seems to be an increasing trend to release the motion posters in the Hindi film industry.

The first-look motion posters of Ajay Devgn's "Singham Returns", Aamir Khan's "PK" and Shah Rukh Khan's "Happy New Year," which were released recently, have fetched positive response from fans.

Now, Kollywood is catching up on the popularity of motion posters. From Vijay's "Kaththi" to Vishal's "Poojai", check out the recently-released first look motion posters of upcoming Tamil films.

"Kaththi"

The first-look motion poster of Vijay's "Kaththi" was released on the special occasion of the actor's birthday in June. The motion poster had an exclusive theme music composed by "Why This Kolaveri" fame Anirudh.

"Kaththi" motion poster, which shows important landmarks of Chennai in the form of newspaper articles, landed in a controversy with many claiming that the poster bears a resemblance to a New York Times – Sabah newspaper commercial advertisement that was released three years ago. There were comparisons between the two videos, and it became one of the hottest topics discussed on social networking sites.

Despite such claims, "Kaththi" motion poster has received overwhelming response from fans. The background score became an instant hit among the masses.

Directed by Murugadoss, "Kaththi" will have Vijay appearing in two roles. The film also has Samantha, Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh and comedian Sathish appear in pivotal roles.

"Lingaa"

The first-look motion poster of "Lingaa", which was released on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, sent fans into frenzy.

Superstar Rajinikanth's stylish avatar in the motion poster received amazing response from the fans. The poster was first released on Rockline Entertainments ("Lingaa" makers) official Facebook page and received more than 35,000 likes.

The first-look motion poster has raised huge expectations about the film, which is touted to be a commercial entertainer. Rajini will be appearing in dual roles in the film, directed by KS Ravi Kumar.

Sonakshi Sinha, Anushka Sinha, Vijayakumar, Santhanam, Jagapathi Babu and Dev Gill are also part of the film's cast. The film's music is composed by Oscar winner AR Rahman.

"Poojai"

Vishal's "Poojai" is the latest film to follow the trend of releasing the motion poster. The makers of "Poojai" released the motion poster on 1 September and it has received decent response from the fans.

"Poojai" will have music composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja. The film has Vishal, Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. The Hari directorial is touted to be a racy action entertainer with all the commercial elements.

Naaigal Jaakirathai

"Naaigal Jaakirathai' will have Idoh (Belgian Shepherd Dog) and Sibi Sathyaraj in pivotal roles. The first look motion poster of the film, released a few weeks ago, has generated positive buzz about the project. 

The film, directed by Shakti Soundar Rajan, is touted to be a comedy thriller. Its music is composed by Dharan Kumar.
