Actor Vijay, who completed 22 years in the film industry on 4 December, has thanked his producers, directors, fans and family members for their support.

In his thanksgiving letter, the actor stated: "Being a person who doesn't forget the past, I remember and cherish every single day of these 22 years I have spent in cinema. Cinema has given me everything in life. I would like to take this opportunity to convey my heartfelt thanks to people who have helped me in these past 22 years."

The actor mentioned all the producers and the directors with whom he has worked in the last 22 years and thanked them for helping him in the industry. He also thanked his co-stars, technicians, members of the 24 crafts union, friends from all forms of media, his parents and family members for their support.

"Lastly, I am not really sure how to thank my fans, who have been there with me all these years. They have stood with me through all my ups and downs. They have been with me during both my success and my failures. I don't think the word thanks would be enough for all the love they have showered on me all these years and given me everything I have with me today. Like I always say, they will remain in my heart forever," Vijay concluded.

The actor, fondly referred to as Ilayathalapathy by his fans, made his acting debut as a lead hero in 1992-release "Naalaiya Theerpu." Since then, he has starred in several films with many of them turning out to be huge hits.

Films such as "Poove Unakkaga," "Kaadhalukku Mariyadhai," "Love Today," "Priyamanavale," "Priyamudan," "Ghilli," "Thirumalai," "Nanban," "Thuppakki" and "Kaththi," are some of the major hits in Vijay's career.

The actor has a huge fan following among the masses and his fans ensure that his films take big openings at the box office. Till now, Vijay has completed 57 films and has begun shooting for his next project, which is tentatively titled as "Vijay 58."

The film touted to be a fantasy-based entertainer will reportedly have Vijay appearing in dual roles. Hansika, Shruti Haasan, Sridevi and Sudeep are also part of the film's cast. The first schedule of the film has been completed and the second schedule is expected to be commenced soon.

Produced by PT Selvakumar and Shibu Thameens, "Vijay 58" is expected to hit screens for Diwali 2015, but there is no official confirmation in this regard.
