According to reports, the untitled film is likely to go on floors in January 2014, just after Pongal. The film will reportedly have Samantha Ruth Prabhu playing the female lead. Comedian Sathish is expected to play an important role in the film. Details about other cast members are yet unknown.

As far as the technical crew is concerned, George C Williams will handle cinematography and Sreekar Prasad will take care of editing. Music composer Anirudh, of "Vanakkam Chennai" fame, will work on the film's soundtracks.

The Vijay starrer will be jointly produced by Ayngaran International and Lyca Productions. According to a report in Behindwoods, Murugadoss is planning to complete the film in eight months and it is speculated to get released for Diwali 2014.

If the report turns out to be true, Vijay fans are in for a real treat next Diwali. The actor's action-entertainer "Thuppakki" released during Diwali in 2012 and emerged as a blockbuster, reportedly raking in over ₹100 crore.
