New posters of Vijay-Samantha's upcoming film "Kaththi" are released.

"Kaththi" is generating a lot of buzz as the film marks the second time collaboration of Vijay and director A. R. Murugadoss.

The film touted to be an action thriller will have Vijay playing a dual role. This will be the third time that the actor appears in a dual role after "Azhagiya Thamizhmagan" (hero and villain) and "Villu" (father and son).

Samantha plays the female lead opposite Vijay in this action thriller. Comedian Sathish of "Ethir Neechal" fame and Bollywood actor Neil Nithin Mukesh also appear in pivotal roles.

"Kaththi" shooting commenced in February and is currently moving at a fast pace. Most part of the film's shooting is completed and it is expected to be wrapped up by this month end. Once the shooting is done, the post-production work will commence.

Meanwhile, the audio launch of "Kaththi" will happen in mid-September. The makers are yet to officially announce the audio release date. Anirudh is composing the tracks for "Kaththi" and Vijay will be rendering one of the songs.

The film is jointly produced by Lyca Productions and Ayngaran International. The Vijay starrer landed in trouble with some organisations, which has claimed that the film's producers - Lyca Productions - has a Sri Lankan connection.

According to them, the promoter of Lyca Productions Subaskaran Allirajah has business links with Sri Lankan president Mahinda Rajapaksa's family. These organisations have demanded that the film should not be released unless the producers are changed, reported the Hindu.

Meanwhile, K. Karunamoorthy of Ayngaran International has denied that Allirajah has any links with Rajapaksa's relatives. "Nobody has directly called me and spoken to me. Many of these organisations have come to a hasty conclusion based on hearsay without getting it clarified from us. What can we do? We will take appropriate steps before the film's release on Deepavali," Karunamoorthy told the daily.

"We will hold a press meet and clarify all doubts that any organisation might have about Lyca Productions. For now, I can say Mr. Allirajah has no business links with President Rajapaksa," he said.

"Kaththi" ia gearing up to release for Diwali this October.
