Dhanush's 25th film, "Velai Illa Pattathari" (VIP) is rocking at the worldwide box office.

After completing first week on a fantastic note, the film has continued to perform well in the second week too.

The Dhanush starrer has minted ₹5.63 crore in its second weekend (25-27 July) at the Tamil Nadu box office, which is approximately 45 percent of the film's collections fetched in its first weekend, according to entertainment industry tracker Sreedhar Pillai.

The film is expected to have surpassed the ₹25 crore mark on Monday (29 July).

Not just in India, "VIP" is doing good business in overseas markets as well. The film has maintained solid business in key markets like United States, Australia and Malaysia.

The romantic action entertainer has grossed ₹1.30 crore from 21 screens in ten days at the US box office. The film collected ₹35.59 lakh and ₹1.41 crore from Australia and Malaysia, respectively, according to Bollywood Hungama.

"VIP" has turned out be the biggest hit of 2014 till now. With the success of "VIP", trade circles in Tamil Nadu are satisfied.

The second half of 2014 has started with a grand note, thanks to the success of "VIP". There are several biggies lined up for release including "Anjaan", "Kaththi", "Thala 55", "Lingaa", "Vishwaroopam 2" and "Uttama Villain". Suriya's "Anjaan" will be the next big release (hitting screens on 15 August).

It remains to be seen whether "VIP" will be able to impress the audience further and achieve a hit status.
