Fans of Kannada films are getting more reasons to celebrate each day, as the movies are gradually making inroads into the United States market. In the recent years, a few movies have done notable business in the country, and the latest additions in the list are "U Turn" and "Chakravyuha."

Pawan Kumar's "U Turn," which was released last weekend, got a good opening in the U.S. while Puneeth Rajkumar's "Chakravyuha," which was released a few weeks ago, has also done a decent business.

"U Turn" has earned $10,351 (Rs. 6.98 lakh) from five screens in its first weekend, reports Bollywood Hungama. The Kannada movie could have done a lot better if some of the shows were not cancelled at the last minute due to technical issues.

Pawan Kumar, on his Facebook account, had posted, "Issue with USA shows... Due to digital errors with the HDDs containing the U TURN movie content... a couple of shows across USA has to be rescheduled for next weekend." The movie is expected to do well in the next weekend as more number of shows are being added.

"U Turn" is a mystery thriller in which Shraddha Srinath and Roger Narayan play the key roles. The brilliant first half, backed by some stupendous performances from the lead artistes, has impressed viewers.

On the other hand, "Chakravyuha" has collected $20,603 (Rs. 13.89 lakh) in the U.S. This is considered to be the highest collection for a Puneeth Rajkumar film. It is an action movie, written and directed by M Saravanan, in which Rachita Ram plays the female lead.

However, it has to be seen whether "U Turn" and "Chakravyuha" would break the records of "RangiTaranga," which had earned Rs. 2.1 crore, and "Uppi 2," which collected Rs. 30 lakh in the U.S.
