Naga Chaitanya's Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo (Sahaasam Swaasaga Saagipo (SSS)) has made good collection at the US box office in the first weekend. The movie has beaten Simbu's Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada (AYM) in the country.
Gautham Menon has written and directed Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo, which is simultaneously made in Tamil as Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada with Simbu as hero. Praneeth Media acquired its overseas theatrical rights for both the movies and released them in around 90 screens each in North America on November 11. Both of them were premiered in the country on Thursday night and got good response.
The Naga Chaitanya-starrer lead the race by collecting $38,603 at the US box office in the premiere shows, while the Simbu-starrer raked in $29,560. Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo continued keep an edge over Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo has collected $235,048 from 90 screens at the US box office in the first weekend and its per-screen average is $2,611. Its day-wise breakup is $38,603 in Thursday premieres, $73,465 on Friday, $82,174 on Saturday and $40,806 on Sunday.
On other hand, Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada has collected $203,946 from 90 screens at the US box office in the first weekend. Its per-screen average is $2,266. However, both the movies have collected $438,994 together at the US box office. Sahasam Swasaga Sagipo has topped the US business chart for Indian movies, while Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada landed in the second place.
