The Koratala Siva-directed action drama film had a slow beginning on its opening day. But it witnessed good growth on Friday and maintained rock-steady on the following days. "Janatha Garage" collected $1,430,334 (Rs. 9.51 cr) at the U.S. box office in its four-day-extended first weekend.

Taran Adarsh tweeted: "Telugu film #JanathaGarage had a STRONG Sun, taking the extended weekend total to $ 1.43 million [₹ 9.51 cr]... Day-wise data in next tweet." He added later: "Telugu film #JanathaGarage - USA: Wed + Thu $ 737,745, Fri $ 216,405, Sat $ 280,309, Sun $ 195,875. Total: $ 1,430,334 [₹ 9.51 cr]. @Rentrak."

"Nannaku Prematho" collected $1,631,799 (Rs. 11.05 crore) at the U.S. box office in its five-day-extended first weekend. Its day-wise collection was $355,321 on Tuesday pre, $235,965 on Wednesday, $124,805 on Thursday, $264,391 on Friday, $385,403 on Saturday and $ 260,726 on Sunday. It was the highest grossing film in the opening weekend for Junior NTR.

"Srimanthudu" collected $2,062,768 (Rs. 13.18 crore) at the U.S. box office in the first weekend and it was the highest collection for a film directed by Koratala Siva. Considering its screen count and massive response in premiere shows, "Janatha Garage" was expected to beat the opening weekend collections of both "Nannaku Prematho" and "Srimanthudu" and become the biggest earner for both the actor and the director. However, the movie failed to do so.

FICUS Entertainment acquired the overseas distribution rights of "Janatha Garage" for a record price of Rs. 7.25 crore. The distribution house released the film in North America, but sold out its theatrical rights of other international markets to other distribution houses. However, the Junior NTR and Mohanlal-starrer has earned approximately Rs. 6.36 crore for the distributors in the U.S.
