TVS Motors will reportedly launch its new Scooty Zest in the Indian market on 20 August, according to a new report.

TVS Scooty Zest, a 110 cc segment scooter, which was first seen at the Delhi Auto Expo 2014 will enter the India market on 20 August, as reported by OverDrive. It is powered by the same Wego/Jupiter 110cc CVTi engine, which can pump out 7.88 bhp power at 7,500 rpm and 8 Nm torque at 5,500 rpm, mated to a V-Matic CVT transmission. The company claims a fuel efficiency of 62 kmpl for the new scooter.

Targeting the female riders in the country, the new offering in the TVS scooty line up flaunts a revised front and rear look with features like new grab rails and LED tail lights. The front fascia of the scooter gets new apron, reworked headlamps and new instrument console.

The scooter gets both electric and kick start and is expected to fall in the price brackets of ₹50,000. Though the Scooty Zest is coming to the market with a new look and design, the competition is not going to be easy. It will face serious competition from the segment's current runners like Honda Activa, Honda Activa i, Honda Dio, Yamaha Ray, Suzuki Let's and Hero Pleasure.

It appears like TVS is working hard to expand its sales volume in the market. Recently, the company introduced a new Wego in India with re-engineered engine and improved features. Priced at ₹46,410 (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new Wego comes powered by 110cc, four-stroke, single-cylinder and air-cooled engine, which is tuned to pump in a power of 8 bhp at 7,500 rpm. It packs new features like fully digital console, tubeless tyres, parking brakes, stylish new muffler and TVS patented econometer.

Meanwhile, TVS Motors reported a 32.15 percent increase in its total sales during July. The company sold 2,03,092 units in July 2014 as against the 1,53,676 units in the corresponding month last year. The domestic sales of the company rose 30 percent in July to 1,64,571 from 1,26,531 units in the year-ago period.
