Colors' "Naagin" has topped the Television Rating Points (TRPs) once again in week 18 (April 30 to May 6) of 2016. According to the data released by Broadcast Audience Research Council India, the television audience measurement agency, the Mouni Roy and Arjun Bijlani-starrer supernatural show scored 3.9 TRPs, which was way lower than its previous ratings.

"Saath Nibhaana Saathiya," which scored 2.7 TRPs in the previous week, slipped to 2.3 points in week 18. The show was on par with Raman-Ishita's "Yeh Hai Mohabbatein." "India Got Talent 7," which premiered on April 30, also scored 2.3 TRPs, thereby making it to the top in the non-fiction category.

Surprisingly, the second week of "The Kapil Sharma Show" failed to garner the expected TRPs. The non-fiction show received 1.9 points, which was much lower than the rating of its opening episode (3).

"Kasam," which is comparatively a new show than other popular daily soaps, has been witnessing a gradual increase in its rating since its inception. The show, which has Ssharad Malhotra in lead role, got 1.7 points.

"Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai" managed to get 1.6 TRPs, followed by "Swaragini" and "Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat" with 1.4 points each. "Chakravartin Ashoka Samrat," which was expected to take the TRP charts by storm with the introduction of Mohit Raina as emperor Ashoka on May 2, didn't see a major difference in its ratings.

As for the channels, Colors TV was once again at the top followed by Star Plus, Zee TV, Sony Pal, Zee Anmol, Star Utsav, Life OK, Rishtey, SAB TV and Sony Entertainment Television. TRP is a tool to measure viewers' preferred programmes and the popularity of a particular channel based on data collected from a particular geography and demography.
