Kajal Aggarwal seems to have bagged a biggie. Yes, the latest buzz is that she is getting ready to play the role of female lead in Ajith Kumar's forthcoming Tamil film, which is presently referred to as "Thala 57."
"If sources are anything to go by, #KajalAggarwal is said to be teaming up with #Ajith in #Thala57. [sic]" journalist Haricharan Pudipeddi tweeted. Reports say that the makers met the actress some time ago and the talks are still in progress. The actress is most likely to sign the project soon.
If it turns out to be true, it is for the first time that Kajal Aggarwal will be working with Ajith. The actress has already worked with many big names in Kollywood like Vijay, Suriya, Karthi and Dhanush. She is currently busy with "Kavalai Vendam" and "Garuda."
However, the latest development has come as a surprise to the fans as it was reported all this while that Anushka Shetty, who had worked with Ajith in "Yennai Arindhaal," would be teaming up with the actor again. The makers' silence on the issue has also not helped the cause and paved way for speculations on the film's female lead.
"Thala 57" was launched earlier this week in a low-key event. The regular shooting of the film will commence by the end of this month in Bulgaria. The major part of the Tamil flick will be shot abroad.
The film is an international spy thriller, in which Ajith plays the role of an investigating officer. Reputed Sathyajyothi Films, which has been in the industry for over three decades and produced many good films like "Moonram Pirai" and "Uthama Puthiran" is producing the flick, which is helmed by Siruthai Siva.
Anirudh Ravichander is the music director, Vetri is the cinematographer and Anthony Ruben is the editor of "Thala 57."
