Speculations on the release of Ajith-Gautham Menon's "Thala 55" have been on the rise for the last few months.
Reports have claimed that the film will be releasing by end of this year or during Pongal festival in 2015. However, latest buzz is that the Ajith starrer might hit the screens a few days ahead of Pongal. It is being said the makers are planning to release the film on 9 January 2015 to cash in on the Pongal holidays. But, an official confirmation is still awaited in this regard.
"Thala 55" (Ajith's 55th film) is currently in the final leg of its shooting. The film's climax is reportedly being shot, according to latest reports. The Ajith starrer is expected to be wrapped up, soon after which the post-production work will commence.
The film's shooting kicked off in April 2014, but the makers are yet to announce the title. Earlier, there were speculations that "Thala 55" could be titled as "Aayiram Thotakkal" or "Satyadev," but the film's makers didn't confirm it. Latest we hear is that "Thala 55" team has decided on the film's title, but is yet to officially announce it. They are reportedly planning to reveal it in November and the film's audio launch is also expected to take place in the same month.
Ajith will be sporting three to four looks in the action thriller flick. Fans have already got a glimpse of the actor's looks including a mass avatar with a beard, salt-and-pepper look and crew-cut black hair. Thala (as Ajith is fondly referred by his fans) will be donning the role of an investigative officer.
The film deals with the events in the hero's life from the age of 28 till he gets married at 38. Ajith has a performance-oriented role in the film, which has action, romance, sentiments and emotions. Gautham is reportedly planning a sequel if the film succeeds at the box office.
Trisha and Anushka play the female leads opposite Ajith. Both the actors seem to have good scope to perform in the film. Arun Vijay, Vivek, Rajasimman of "Kuttipuli" fame, Thalaivasal Vijay and Devi Ajith are also part of the film's cast.
Harris Jayaraj has composed the soundtracks for "Thala 55" and AM Ratnam has produced the project.
