Actor Arun Vijay, who is working in Ajith-Gautham Menon's film, is certain about the film's success.

The actor took to twitter to thank Ajith's fans for their love and support.

Vijay had kept his role in "Thala 55" (Ajith's 55th film) under wraps. However, the film's producer AM Ratnam spilled the beans about his role during the Vijay Awards function held recently in Chennai. The producer revealed that the actor will be playing the villain in "Thala 55" amid cheers from the fans.

Vijay was surprised at the announcement, but felt happy when fans roared after hearing the news. "Hi friends.. I didn't disclose much about the character I play in Gowtham sir's film, as it was meant to be a Surprise... :) but was zapped when Rathnam sir announced on stage in a recent award function. But was really happy when the stadium roared on hearing it.. :-)," the actor tweeted.

Vijay's new look for the film has already received fantastic response online and has raised the expectations for "Thala 55."

The film, touted to be an action thriller, will have Anushka Shetty and Trisha Krishnan as the female leads. Vivek and Raja Simman of "Kutti Puli" fame will also be part of the film's cast.

"Thala 55" is one of the most-awaited films of 2014. This is the first time that Ajith and Menon have teamed up for a film and their collaboration has created a lot of hype. The film's shooting commenced in April and is progressing well.

Ajith is reportedly playing the role of a cop in the action thriller flick. Apparently, he will be appearing in two looks - one in early 20s and the other in early 40s.

The film's music composed by Harris Jayaraj, who has teamed with director Menon nearly six years after their last release "Vaaranam Aayiram." Australian cinematographer Dan Macarthur is helming the camera for "Thala 55."

The makers are yet to announce the film's title. There is also a buzz that the first look teaser of the film will be released in August. But, there is no official confirmation in this regard.

"Thala 55" is expected to hit the screens in November. Earlier, there were reports claiming that the film might clash with "Kaththi", which is slated to hit the screens for Diwali. But Menon had stated that "Thala 55" will be out in theatres only after Murugadoss's film hits theatres.
