Teachers' Day is celebrated on 5 September every year. On this day, we remember the contributions of our gurus and thank them for guiding us. Teachers help us in building our career and often give us life lessons too. Bollywood also has a set of teachers, who helped in shaping the career of several newcomers in the industry.

Every newcomer wants to make a good debut in Bollywood and many were lucky enough to have got the support of a mentor who helped them take the first step successfully.

While Salman Khan is known for launching many newcomers in the industry, there are certain other Bollywood celebrities who have also served as mentors.

On the occasion of Teachers' Day 2015, here is the list of Bollywood stars who served as mentors to some lucky newcomers in the industry.

Salman Khan: The superstar has launched many newcomers. It is knwon that stars like Katrina Kaif, Sonakshi Sinha, Daisy Shah, Zarine Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez and others became popular faces in the industry after they worked with Salman. The superstar still continues to do the same and the latest pair to be promoted by Salman is Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty. The duo is making their Bollywood debut with the movie "Hero", which is being produced by Salman. The superstar has been sincerely promoting the film and the two newcomers.

Shah Rukh Khan: Shah Rukh Khan was behind Deepika Padukone's debut and now, she is regarded as one of the top actresses in the industry. Mahira Khan is ready to enter Bollywood with Shah Rukh's upcoming film "Raees". The reports suggest that the superstar has turned mentor for Mahira Khan. SRK has reportedly been guiding Mahira to choose the right films and is advicing her on how to strengthen her position in the industry.

Aamir Khan: Tiger Shroff, who made his debut with "Heropanti", was reportedly mentored by Aamir Khan before the making of the film. Tiger, who won the Best Debut Actor award at IIFA 2015, reportedly used to take tips from Aamir Khan.

Akshay Kumar: Apart from the Khans, Akshay Kumar is one such actor whose films often enter the Rs 100 crore club. Amy Jackson, who is relatively new to the industry, will be seen opposite Akshay Kumar in upcoming film "Singh Is Bliing". It has been reported that Akki has been guiding Amy to understand the nuances of Bollywood. He even reportedly selected the costumes of Amy during the shooting of a song of "Singh Is Bliing".

Karan Johar: Filmmaker Karan Johar launched Sidharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt in "Student of the Year". The two stars consider this break as a big one and have expressed their gratitude to Karan Johar for the same many times. Although both Sidharth and Alia have now become popular stars, they still seek suggestions from Karan Johar, whom they consider as a mentor in the industry.

Anurag Basu: Anurag Basu is considered to be Kangana Ranaut's mentor as he launched the actress with "Gangster" in 2006. After the debut film, Kangana again worked with Anurag Basu in "Life In a Metro". Kangana reportedly shares a very good relationship with Anurag Basu and considers all his words sincerely. The duo have reportedly teamed up for another upcoming project.
