One of the major criticisms Suzuki faced when it launched its 150cc street sports motorcycle -- the Gixxer and its fully faired version the Gixxer SF -- was the unavailability of disc brakes for the rear wheels. While many of the rival manufactures provide disc brakes as optional extra, Suzuki never offered optional disc brakes for Gixxer twins.

Suzuki seems to have addressed the issue now, as Gixxer twins were caught testing with rear disc brakes at national capital region by Suzuki is contemplating the launch of dual disc variant of Gixxer and Gixxer SF in mid-October and whether the motorcycle will be equipped with disc brakes as standard feature or optional extra remains to be seen. In either case, the rear disc brake version is expected to be costlier by Rs 5,000-6,000.
