BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, who has reportedly been considered for the post of Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) vice chancellor by the HRD ministry, has said he has certain pre-conditions, which include being allowed to rusticate 'anti-national students'.

News broke on Wednesday that HRD Minister Smriti Irani had spoken to Swamy about the post of JNU VC, but the latter took to Twitter to say there has been no such offer.

He also said that he had some pre-conditions for considering the prestigious post.

On Thursday, Subramanian Swamy said on Twitter that he will have to be allowed to throw out 'anti-national' students if he does take up the post.

"No question of my considering unless allowed to rusticate anti- national students," Swamy tweeted.

Swamy reportedly demanded that he be given emergency powers to 'clean up' the JNU campus if he is instated as the vice chancellor.

These pre-conditions have reportedly led the HRD ministry to rethink on its offer to Swamy, The New Indian Express reported. Additionally, Swamy also does not fall under the age bar of 65 years fixed by the HRD minsitry to become the vice chancellor.

Swamy made his ideas to 'clean up' JNU clear through several of his replies on twitter.

Here are his Twitter reactions.
