Director Muppalaneni Siva's Telugu movie "Sri Sri," featuring superstar Krishna, Vijaya Nirmala and Naresh in the lead, has received mixed reviews and good ratings from film critics.

The movie is about retired law professor Sri Sri (Krishna), who is leading a happy life with his wife (Vijaya Nirmala) and daughter Swetha, a journalist with a TV channel. Swetha is killed by Bikshapati (Krishna Murali Posani) and JK (Murali Sharma) when she tries to expose a scam involving the two. How Sri Sri takes revenge on the killers of his daughter forms the crux of the story.

The critics say "Sri Sri" has a routine and predictable story. The director has showcased revenge scenes in an interesting way, which keeps the audience engaged in the first half of the film. But with most of the story covered, Siva wanders for a major part of the second half that has multiple flash-backs, which bores the viewers.

Critics say Superstar Krishna, who has made his comeback with "Sri Sri," has delivered a good performance, which is the highlight of the movie. Vijay Nirmala, Naresh, Murli Sharma, JK Bharadwaj, Posani Krishna Murali and Sai Kumar have also delivered good performances, which are assets of the film.

"Sri Sri," which has been bank-rolled by Sri Sai Deep, Chatla and Balu Reddy, has average production values, which lack freshness and are less appealing to the audience of the present generation, add the critics. We bring you critics' verdict and ratings. Continue to see them in the "Sri Sri" movie review round-up:

"Sri Sri" is a film which brings back super star Krishna to the silver screen after a long gap. The film is neither bad or good and is somewhere in between. Krishna's role and some exciting thrills during the first half are basic assets. All those who want to see the legendary in a good role and do not mind the predictable story line and proceedings, give this revenge drama a shot.

Chitramala Ratings: 2.5

With the voice over of the Superstar Mahesh Babu, this Sri Sri begins. A song which does not fit in the playlist of our generation begins with the introduction of Superstar Krishna, which makes us know the story of movie through its visuals. Vijay Nirmala's expressions in this song seem to be gone beyond the level of belief. First fifteen minutes takes to introduce the premise and characters of movie. Slowly after some emotional scenes in the eyes of makers and tiring scenes for audience, Superstar decides to take on revenge being compelled by Vijay Nirmala. This movie has nothing to remember after the movie and its screenplay which literally test the patience of audience. Director Muppalaneni Siva has failed to use the stamina and opportunity of his comeback with the lame script and making. To sumup, Sri Sri is neithet entertaining nor thrilling comeback for Superstar Krishna.

There is a Hindi film Wazir that released earlier in the year starring Amitabh Bachchan. It shares similar plot but the execution is way different and up to current standards. Something similar should have been attempted here.
