Sony may release its latest device from the X family, the Xperia XA, in India next week if rumours are anything to go by. The device has already been released in China by the Japanese technology giant, but it hasn't officially announced its availability outside the country.

The Sony Xperia XA was unveiled along with three other handsets -- Xperia X, Xperia X Performance and Xperia XA Ultra – at the Mobile World Congress 2016 in February. The Xperia X, Xperia XA and Xperia X Performance were released in May, but the Xperia XA Ultra is yet to see the light of day.

It was reported that the Sony Xperia XA would be released in India in the third week of June, but that didn't happen. Now, a report by GSMArena has claimed that the device could come on June 22.

The Xperia XA sports a 5.0-inch HD Mobile BRAVIA engine 2 display technology with 1,280x720 pixels (294 ppi pixel density), powered by a 64-bit MediaTek MT6755 Octa-core processor, houses an ARM Mali-T860 MP2 700MHz GPU, and runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. It comes packed with a 16GB internal memory (expandable up to 200GB via microSd card) and a 2GB RAM, and powered by a 2300mAh battery.

The mid-range device will be a delight to photography enthusiasts. It mounts a 13MP rear camera with 1/3-inch Exmor RS for mobile sensor, Quick launch, Hybrid Auto-Focus, HDR photo, 5x Clear Image Zoom and Auto-Scene Recognition, and an 8MP front-snapper with Sony Exmor R for mobile sensor, Auto-Focus, Wide angle lens (88 degree), Low-light photography and HDR photo.

The Xperia XA will be priced at Rs. 20,990 (around $310) and the Xperia X is priced at Rs. 48,990 (around $730) in India, according to GSMArena. However, this is yet to be confirmed.
