Silambarasan aka Simbu has been signed to play the lead role in the Tamil remake of Junior NTR-starrer Telugu flick "Temper." The forthcoming movie will be directed by Vijay Chander of "Vaalu" fame.

A source told the Times of India that the Tamil remake rights have been acquired by Michael Rayappan, who has roped in Simbu and Vijay Chandar. The cast and crew are yet to be finalised and the shooting of the untitled flick will begin next month.

Simbu and Vijay Chandar's "Vaalu" had failed to live up to the expectations. In fact, the Tamil movie took three years to be completed and had landed in a lot of controversies before its release. But it has not stopped the actor from joining hands with the director again.

In recent years, Simbu has starred in the remakes of Bollywood movies "Dabangg" ("Osthe" in Tamil) and Telugu movie "Vedam" ("Vaanam" in Tamil). Unfortunately, both the films had failed to set the box office on fire.

Telugu movie "Temper" was written and directed by Puri Jagganadh and produced by Bandla Ganesh. Kajal Aggarwal had romanced Junior NTR in the movie, which was released in February 2015. Now, there are reports that the film will also be remade in Hindi.

Coming to Simbu, the actor is now getting ready for the release of his next film "Idhu Namma Aalu," written and directed by Pandiraj. The actor had paired up with Nayantara in the Tamil movie. It is a romantic-comedy flick, which is likely to hit the screens in the last week of March.

Simbu is also busy with Gautham Menon's "Achcham Yenbadhu Madamaiyada." He has romanced Manjima Mohan in this film, which will hit the screens in May.
