Kannada actor Shiva Rajkumar (Shivarajkumar) was rushed to Mallya Hospital in Bangalore after he suffered a minor heart attack on Tuesday morning.

Shiva Rajkumar was in the gym when he complained of chest pain and fell unconscious. The gym staff informed his wife Geetha, who along with the staff, rushed him to Columbia Hospital, where the doctors conducted ECG Angiogram test, reports a Kannada TV news channel.

Later, the "Hattrick" hero was shifted to Mallya Hospital, where Dr Srinivas is reportedly treating him. Sources claim that Shiva Rajkumar has a history of high blood pressure, which may have contributed to the mild heart attack. The hospital sources said the doctors have found two blockages in the artery, but they are considering conducting either angioplasty or an open heart surgery, reports The Times of India.

In a statement to ETV Kannada News, his brother Raghavendra Rajkumar denied any serious health issue. He said that he had met Shivanna who was fit and fine, and there was nothing to worry about his heart problem. Meanwhile, he requested media and fans not to spread rumours about his health.

Shashiprasad SM, a film reporter from Deccan Chronicle, tweeted, "Dr #Shivarajkumar is fine and will be hospitalised for two days for #rest. No angioplasty, being treated through medicine."

Shiva Rajkumar is shooting for Ram Gopal Varma's upcoming multlingual docu-drama-thriller film "Killing Veerappan". His co-star Parul Yadav tweeted, "Shocked to have known about Shivraj sir. Get well soon @ShivuaDDa sir. All our best wishes are with you."

Shiva Rajkumar's elder daughter Nirupama, who is a doctor, recently married Dr Dileep. The actor hosted a grand wedding ceremony for the couple at the Bangalore Palace. It was one of the biggest marriage functions in Sandalwood and leading superstars from Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam film industries were present on the occasion.
