Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra are set to team up eight years after the hit "Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi." The Bollywood Baadshah, who endeared the character Surinder to fans in the last outing, will be seen as a warrior in Aditya's next, which is reportedly a period drama.

According to a Filmfare report, a source close to the makers revealed that SRK and Aditya are collaborating on a period drama, in which the superstar will be seen as a warrior. The film will be made with a huge budget.

The report suggests that the director will take his time for research as it is a new genre for him, and will take the film on floors in the second half of 2017. Aditya has recently made his directorial comeback with "Befikre," starring Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor. The love story is currently being shot in Paris.

For Shah Rukh, it will be the second time he goes back centuries on screen. He had earlier essayed the titular king's role opposite Kareena Kapoor Khan in "Asoka," which was released in 2001. After all these years, it will certainly be interesting to see SRK as a warrior once again in Aditya's film.

Calling the upcoming movie a "very big project," Shah Rukh had earlier told Catch News: "He (Aditya) told me that the shooting will be wrapped up in three months, but I will have to work with him on characters for two months prior to shooting for the film. I have no idea what he is making, but he has just asked me to keep my dates free next year. He has been planning one film with me after 'Befikre'."

Meanwhile, SRK is busy with several other projects. After "Fan," his next release was supposed to be "Raees." But the film's release has been postponed to January 2017 as it was clashing with Salman Khan's "Sultan" this year. Shah Rukh will also be seen in a special appearance in Gauri Shinde's untitled film, which stars Alia Bhatt. And then, he is also shooting for Aanand L Rai's next, in which he will play a dwarf.
