Shah Rukh Khan-Kajol starrer "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ)" has been voted the most favourite Indian film of the past 100 years, according to a poll conducted by Sanona, UK's largest online Pay Per View (PPV) Indian movie streaming service.

In a bid to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the Indian film industry, Sanona conducted the online poll across social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter, email and the film portal itself.

The hit romantic comedy (DDLJ) took over films like "Sholay", "3 idiots" and "Mughal-e-Azam" and topped the list with 47 percent of votes. This is the latest accomplishment for the film which has won accolades from all quarters. It still remains the longest-running film in the history of Indian cinema which completed 900 weeks at the Maratha Mandir theatre in Mumbai on 11 January.

"Sholay", an action-adventure film which was released in the 1970s, was the second most favourite Indian film. Directed by Ramesh Sippy, "Sholay's" star cast includes Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjeev Kumar, Hema Malini, Jaya Bhaduri and Amjad Khan.

Aamir Khan-starrer "3 idiots" came third. The comedy-drama film is about three friends and is loosely inspired from author Chetan Bhagat's book "Five Point Someone". "3 Idiots" is one of the biggest worldwide grossers in Bollywood.

Besides these films, Salman's "Dabangg", "Hum Aapke Jai Koun" and "Mother India" have made it to the top 10 list.
