Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan has finally confirmed the arrival of his third child, at the music launch of his most-awaited film "Chennai Express."

However, the actor refrained from giving details about the baby's gender and other facts.

"I can say no to you right now. It is extremely personal and confidential and I would request everyone here tonite to have a great time. It's a little mix of sadness and happiness what's happening at this point of time. I would request everyone to show the same alacrity in doing the enthusiastic investigations that they are doing on my baby upon other things which it should be," Shah Rukh told reporters during the music launch on Wednesday night.

"Let's get on the train baby, my baby will talk about some other time."

Days after it was reported that Shah Rukh and his wife Gauri are having a third baby via surrogacy, officials at the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) confirmed they received a birth report of a male child born on 27 May to parents Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan at Masrani Nursing Home in Andheri, Mumbai.

Earlier, a controversy sprouted regarding a gender determination test carried out by King khan before the birth of the child. According to the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques Act, gender determination is banned in India. When the media widely reported that Shah Rukh went forward with the test, BMC officials launched an enquiry on the same, but the actor refuted any such reports.

On Wednesday, BMC officials received a birth report about the baby which confirmed that SRK and his wife have indeed become parents to a third child. The couple had remained silent over the birth of their baby till then.

Amid the controversy and string of allegations against him, SRK confirmed the arrival of the child at the "Chennai Express" music launch event, but he refused to divulge more details citing that the issue was "personal and confidential" to him.

According to media reports, the baby was born premature and was in the intensive care unit at the Masrani hospital. SRK reportedly shifted his baby to Nanavati Hospital and then to Breach Candy Hospital. The baby was later discharged and is currently living with the Khans at their Mannat mansion in Mumbai.
