Is Shah Rukh Khan, Aanand L Rai's upcoming dwarf movie the most expensive Hindi film ever?

Shah Rukh Khan and Aanand L Rai's upcoming untitled film is said to be one of the most expensive Bollywood movies till date. Red Chillies Entertainment had recently announced that Shah Rukh and the ace director have collaborated for their next film that will be released on Dec. 21, 2018. The film will present SRK in the character of a dwarf.

Buzz suggests that the Shah Rukh-Aanand movie is one of the high budget Bollywood movies of all time. The film will be made on a budget of Rs. 150 crore, according to Koimoi.

Although there is no confirmed data on which Bollywood film holds the record of being the most expensive Hindi film, it appears that none of those was made on a budget of Rs. 150 crore.

Shah Rukh and Aanand's upcoming movie will have some never-seen-before VFX work and that will incur huge costs for the makers of the film. Hrithik Roshan's "Mohenjo Daro" reportedly had a budget of Rs. 140 crore and it looks like, Shah Rukh is set to raise the risk factor a notch higher. The director and actor will start shooting for the film in December this year.

Although the film appears to be a love story, the female lead of the film has not been announced yet. There were rumours that Aanand's next film will have two leading ladies, for which Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif were being considered. Other actresses like Sonam Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan and Alia Bhatt are also being speculated to be a part of the much-awaited project.
