Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt's "Shaandaar" (Shandaar) managed to make the sixth highest first day income of 2015 at the box office.

"Shaandaar" (Shandaar) has also recorded the highest opening for Alia and Shahid. The opening day box office collection of "Shaandaar" is a whopping Rs 13.1 crore.

Shahid's 'R... Rajkumar" was his highest opener so far with Rs 10.20 crore first day business and Alia's "2 States" recorded Rs 12.42 crore, which was her highest opener.

"Sunoh Sunoh! #Shaandaar collects 13.1 cr on Day 1:highest opening day fr @shahidkapoor & @aliaa08 ! Taaliyan :) @DharmaMovies @FuhSePhantom," Fox Star tweeted.

"#Shaandaar registers the 6th highest opening of 2015. Booked your tickets for this weekend yet ? :) @FuhSePhantom @DharmaMovies," the production house added.

"Shaandaar" has shattered the opening day records of Ranbir Kapoor's "Roy", Ranveer Singh's "Dil Dhadakne Do" and Kapil Sharma's "Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon".

The romantic film, directed by Vikas Bahl has also shattered the opening day box office collection record of Akshay Kumar's "Baby" and "Gabbar Is Back".

"Shaandaar" opened well at the box office due to the Dusshera holiday across the country. The film enjoyed a good opening at major cities, including Mumbai, Delhi-National Capital Region and others, but at some places the collection was affected as the first day show started late due to Dusshera pooja.

After a good opening day, the film is expected to hold well at the box office on its second day, i.e. on Friday. Partial holiday on the second day (Friday) will help the collection to remain stable.

Directed by Vikas, the film features Shahid, Alia, Pankaj Kapoor, Sanjay Kapoor, Sanah Kapoor, Vikas Verma and Sushma Seth.
