The BSE Sensex and Nifty rose on Thursday, marking their highest levels since Sept.23. The benchmark BSE Sensex was up 0.28 percent while the broader Nifty rose 0.31 percent as of 10:50 a.m.

Exporters led the gains on the U.S. Federal Reserve's optimism about U.S. economic recovery, said traders.

Infosys (INFY.NS) was up 1.75 percent while Dr.Reddy's Laboratories (REDY.NS) gained 1.41 percent.

Realty shares rose after the government relaxed rules for foreign investment in construction.

DLF (DLF.NS) gained 5.42 percent, Sobha Developers (SOBH.NS) was up 4.22 percent.

A lower-than-expected increase in wheat support prices also aided sentiment.
