Samsung is expected to launch its 2016 flagship series in India soon and rumours have constantly been flowing in about the new devices. Following the company's standard naming strategy, the new flagships will be called Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge. Rumours have pinpointed several details about these handsets, ranging from their specifications to new features. In a fresh report out of Samsung's supply chain, an anonymous source has revealed some exciting details about the Galaxy S7 series.

SamMobile exclusively reported that Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will feature screens measuring 5.1-inch and 5.5-inch, respectively. This offers a chance for big-screen smartphone fans to upgrade right away instead of having to wait for Samsung to launch a new Galaxy Note model, which is usually staged for a later part of the year.

In addition to that, the inside source also confirmed that the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will feature microSD card slot for storage expansion after the option was abruptly removed from the Galaxy S6 series. Earlier, reports have been hinting at the microSD card option in Galaxy S7 smartphones and the latest report adds more weight to that rumour.

Samsung is highly expected to launch the Galaxy S7 series in February and the handsets will go on sale in the same month. The base 32GB variant of the Galaxy S7 is going to be priced at Euro 699, while the Galaxy S7 Edge will cost EUR 799, SamMobile reported.

In another report about Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, new details revealed that both handsets will be IP67 certified for water and dust resistance. Other details about the Galaxy S7 series include 12MP primary camera with a new-low of f/1.7 aperture lens, 5MP front snapper, Exynos 8 Octa 8890 or and Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipsets based on the markets, 4GB RAM and Quad HD Super AMOLED displays with always-on functionality, Venture Beat reports.

Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are also expected to get bigger batteries, measuring 3,000mAh and 3,300mAh, respectively, and also support wireless charging. Nothing is official about these rumours, but more concrete details will follow at the launch of Galaxy S7 series later in February.
