In what was surely one of the biggest gatherings of high profile personalities from several professions in recent years, Bollywood celebrities, cricketers, politicians and business tycoons attended the dinner party hosted by Sachin Tendulkar and his wife Anjali at at a hotel in Andheri East on Monday.

Tendulkar, 40, retired from cricket on Saturday, after India wrapped up the second Test against West Indies in less than three days.

Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karan Johar, Rahul Bose and several others attended the party. Other big names from business, sports, politics and other professions, include Union Minister Sharad Pawar, Raj Thackeray, Maharashtra Chief Minister Prithviraj Chavan, Nita Ambani, Asha Bhosle, Krishnamachari Srikkanth, Sunil Gavaskar, MS Dhoni, Virat Kohli, Yuvraj Singh, Gautam Gambhir, Virender Sehwag and other members of the Indian cricket team.

"After 24 years, give me at least 24 days to rest before I decide on my next moves," Sachin had told reporters on Sunday, a day after he hung up his boots.

The Little Master scored 15,921 runs from 200 Test matches and set several world records, during his illustrious career spanning close to two-and-a-half decades, including the highest run-getter in both Tests and ODIs, 100 international hundreds (51 in Tests and 49 in ODIs), and the first man to hit a double hundred in ODIs.
