The collection of filmmaker Gunasekhar's multilingual movie "Rudramadevi" (Rudhramadevi) has dropped considerably at the overseas box office in its fifth weekend due to the reduction of its screen count.

"Rudramadevi" was released in key international markets like US, UK, UAE, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. In its fifth week, the movie has reportedly been withdrawn completely from theatres in almost all the foreign markets, except North America, where it is still holding 5 cinema halls.

The Anushka Shetty, Rana Daggubati and Allu Arjun starrer was screened in 10 cinema halls in the country in the fourth week and its screen count has been reduced to 5 in the fifth week. "Rudramadevi" has collected $2,273 at the US box office in the fifth weekend. Its 31-day total business has reached $948,469 (Rs 6.30 crore) in the country.

Made on a budget of Rs 80 crore, "Rudramadevi" is the next most hyped period movie after "Baahubali". Released in record number of screens in US, the movie opened to fantastic response and did good collection at the US box office in its opening weekend. The film shattered the records of "Temper", "S/o Satyamurthy" and "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy", which have crossed the mark of $1 million in the country.

After seeing its huge response, trade experts in the film nagar predicted that "Rudramadevi" would surpass the mark of $1 million at the US box office. It would also become one of the top five all time highest grosser Telugu movies in the country. But the movie has failed to cross the magical mark.

"Rudramadevi" still needs $51,531 to cross the mark of $1 million at the US box office. When looked at its current pace of collection, the magical mark seems to be a distant dream. Moreover, new movie "Akhil", which is set for a massive release in the country on 11 November, will completely halt its business.

However, "Rudramadevi" has grossed US$14,572 (Rs 9.43 lakh) in Canada, A$2,617 in Australia, NZ$518 in New Zealand and MYR109,630 in Malaysian. Its Tamil version has grossed $984 in US and US$1,965 Canada. The film has collected a total of $993837 at the overseas box office so far.
