Anushka Shetty's latest outing "Rudhramadevi" (also spelled as Rudramadevi/Rudrama Devi) has done good collection at US box office in two days and beaten the record of "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy" (BBM).

The US theatrical right of "Rudhramadevi" has been acquired by leading distribution house Blue Ray, which reportedly shelled out Rs 4+ crore for it. The promos of the film have created a lot of buzz in the US before the release. The distributors also made grand arrangements for a massive release across the country.

Blue Ray held paid preview shows for "Rudhramadevi" in several centres across the country on Thursday night and the movie received a superb response from the audience. The Gunasekhar-directed period film raked in approximately $126,276 [Rs 81.70 lakh] at the US box office in premiere shows. The movie smashed the record of "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy", which had grossed $70,132.

"Rudhramadevi" released in 130 cinema halls across the country on Friday and opened to an overwhelming response everywhere. The business showed decent growth on Saturday. The Anushka Shetty starrer has surpassed the mark of $0.5 million at the US box office in two days (including its business in premiere shows).

India's leading film trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted, "Telugu film #Rudhramadevi - USA: Thu previews $ 126,276, Fri $ 179,696, Sat $ 252,239. Total: $ 558,211 [₹ 3.62 cr]. @RentrakIndia"

Andhra Box Office tweeted, "#Rudramadevi Crosses Half A Million$ already in USA on Saturday. Good Weekend For the flick Overseas despite not so encouraging web reviews."

"Bhale Bhale Magadivoy", which was released in 113 screens on 4 September, has become the fourth all-time highest-gross Telugu film in the US. The Nani starrer had raked in $481,663 at the US box office in two days. On 6 September, Taran Adarsh had tweeted, "Telugu film #BhaleBhaleMagadivoi is SOLID in USA. Thu pre $ 70,132, Fri $ 164,459, Sat $ 247,072. Total: $ 481,663 [₹ 3.21 cr] @RentrakIndia"

"Rudhramadevi" has got 17 screens than "Bhale Bhale Magadivoy" and it has beaten the latter's record with a margin of around $200,000. But some trade experts say that the performance is not upto the expected mark when compared to its huge budget and promotion.
