Rob Kardashian's weight gain might be the result of a larger issue, which was triggered when his sister Khloe Kardashian split from husband Lamar Odom, new reports indicate.

Reportedly, Rob saw Odom as a father figure and when the latter split from Khloe, Rob resorted to excessive partying to cope with "fatherly abandonment," reported TMZ, adding that it was Odom, who inspired Rob to start a business and get into shape.

Rob started spiralling out of control soon after Odom and Khloe split, and he is said to have cut off all contacts with his family as well.

The only person who seems close to Rob is Khloe.

Rob is also said to be miffed with his family for talking about his struggles on "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

"Rob really resents that his entire family is capitalizing on his weight issues by talking about them on Keeping Up With the Kardashians," a source told HollywoodLife.

"It's embarrassing enough, so much so that he's just isolating himself, especially from the family. He still talks to Khloe [Kardashian], but he just doesn't spend as much time with her because he wants to isolate himself," the source added.

Rob is aware that his family truly cares about him, as both Khloe and Kris Jenner have been vocal about their struggles to get him out of the bad phase. The previous episode of the family reality show saw Jenner admitting to constantly worrying about Rob.

"I want to fix Rob. Sometimes you just can't. I have not cried myself to sleep in so long, I don't even know what that's like. I go to bed every night worried about everybody and I'm sure Khloe's doing the same thing," Kris told Kim on the July 27 episode of "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

Amidst all these abandonment struggles, Rob is also dealing with his ex girlfriend Adrienne Bailon's accusation that being associated with the Kardashians has ruined her career.

"To be stuck with that Kardashian label, that was so hurtful to me and to my career," Bailon said in an interview with Latina magazine, according to HollywoodLife. "I probably realized that too late—not that it would've affected my decisions in terms of who I dated, but it would've affected my decision to appear on the show."

Ever since Bailon's comments went viral, the Kardashian clan has descended upon the singer, with Kim noting that the only reason Bailon was in the news was because of her relationship with Rob.

"Funny how she says being with a Kardashian hurt her career yet the only reason she has this article is bc she is talking about a Kardashian," Kim tweeted.
