Speculations around Golden star Ganesh's 25th film "Buguri" is still continuing. The makers of film are yet to confirm its lead actress. The latest news on the M.D. Shridhar directorial is that model turned actress Richa Panai will play the lead opposite Ganesh. This is the third time the film's heroine is changed.

The makers of "Buguri" had initially announced Vedhika as its heroine. She had even attended the film's launch function. Later, Vedhika had backed out of the film due to date clashes.

Vedhika was then replaced by model turned actress Arundhati who made her acting debut with the film "Kolminchu" in 2010. She later went on to do many Tamil and Kannada films. Unfortunately, most of her films failed to make a mark in the industry and her contract with "Buguri" opposite Ganesh was expected to be a turning point in her career. Now, latest news from industry insiders suggest Arundhati's attempts to be in vain.

"I came to Bangalore with enthusiasm and even shot for two days. Then I came back to Chennai to promote my Tamil film "Netru Indru." I didn't hear from 'Buguri' team for a couple of days, and then someone in Chennai told me that I was not part of the project anymore. Later, a call from the director confirmed this. I was even paid an advance. Apparently, the actor of the film did not find me suitable for the role. In fact, I even overheard a few things when I was on the sets, but refrained from commenting. I am still an upcoming actress, so I can't fight it out. I am upset but this too will pass," said Arundhati to The New Indian Express about her exit from the film.

If reports are to be believed, Richa Panai will now replace Arundhati in "Buguri." It will be Panai's first Kannada film. She had earlier done some Malayalam and Telugu films. Some of her popular films are "Vadamalli", "Bangkok Summer", "Sandwich" and "Yamudiki Mogudu."

Expectations are high for the M.D Shridhar directorial. His last film "Bulbul," which was a remake of the Telugu film "Darling" was a super hit. The film had Darshan, Ambarish and Rachitha Ram in lead roles. This is the third time Shridhar and Ganesh have joined together for a film. Ganesh's first film "Chellata" was directed by Shridhar and their second film "Krishna" starring Pooja Gandhi and Sharmila Mandre was a hit. With "Buguri," they are joining together after a gap of six years. The film is also scripted and produced by the director and the music is done by Mickey J Meyer.
