Reliance Jio 4G roll-out has been a mystery, but the company is laying strong groundwork ahead of the official roll-out. Reliance LYF branded smartphones have made quite a name for themselves in the recent months and the new bundle offer will only make consumers rush to the nearest Reliance stores. According to a report by Phone Radar, Reliance LYF smartphones have received official price drops on several of its models.

According to a separate report by Gadgets360, the new price drop was communicated to the dealers and the new prices took effect on Tuesday. In addition to the generous discounts, Reliance is also offering unlimited data and voice calls on its Jio 4G network for three months. With this offer, customers can purchase a base model of Reliance LYF smartphone with 3 months of unlimited 4G data and voice calls for as low as Rs. 2,999.

It is worth mentioning that the new SIM cards that come with LYF smartphones cannot be used in another handset, at least during the first three months of the offer period. Reliance is currently selling its LYF-branded smartphones through its official Reliance Digital and other Reliance approved retail stores.

As per the discount notice obtained by Phone Radar, the price drops on LYF smartphones are as follows:

Reliance is yet to publicly roll out its Jio 4G services, however, the company has been offering the service under an employee referral programme. According to a recent report, Reliance Communications CDMA customers are also being offered Jio 4G services if they opted for the upgrade. As per the data shared by RCom with DoT, over 90 percent of its 8 million customer base opted for the upgrade.

While there is no definitive timeline for the official launch of the Jio 4G, sources have said that the company is expected to commence the commercial operations in India by September. Reliance Jio is targeting 100 million subscribers within 100 days of the launch and about 131 million customers by the end of 2019-20. The company's annual revenue is expected to rise to $6.69 billion (Rs. 45,492 crore) by March 2020.
