Ever since Karan Johar has announced his association with director Rohit Shetty for the remake of the iconic film "Ram Lakhan", speculations regarding the lead actors have been doing the rounds.

Previous reports stated that Siddharth Malhotra and Varun Dhawan were approached for the film. Now, Ranveer Singh has expressed his eagerness to feature as the lead in the film. "If I am offered the film I would love to do it." Singh told India Today.

The "Gunday" actor justifies this point by stating that the film will surely pull the crowd to the theatres as Johar is one of the best creative producers of the industry and Shetty has delivered some blockbuster action films. Further, the actor himself is a big fan of "Chennai Express" director's films.

"Karan Johar is the best creative producer one can ask for. Rohit Shetty is one of the biggest directors we have a today. I am a big fan of Rohit Shetty movies." said Singh.

The "Ram-Leela" actor further explains: "I was very small when Ram Lakhan had first released. Today after having seen it several times, I can safely say that it is film with a classic combination of love, action, romance and emotion -- the stuff that the audience likes to see in our movies. I would agree to do it instantly if I was offered the film."

Earlier, there were also speculations that Shetty will bring his favourites Shah Rukh Khan and Ajay Devgn in the remake. It would have been interesting to see the duo sharing the screen space, considering the fact that both Khan and Devgn are not really good friends from the industry.

However, the makers of the remake of "Ram Lakhan" have not yet revealed any details regarding the project.

Subhash Ghai's "Ram Lakhan" was one of the iconic films of Bollywood that showcased the bond between two brothers, Ram and Lakhan. The movie, which starred Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff, also featured Madhuri Dixit, Dimple Kapadia and Raakhee in the lead roles.

The yesteryear director who handed over the rights to Dharma productions, will also co-produce the remake of the comedy drama along with Johar. However, rumours are rife that the remake rights were apparently purchased by Johar at a whopping ₹5 crores from Ghai.
