Anup Bhandari, who made his directorial debut with the blockbuster "RangiTaranga," is going to formally announce the name of his forthcoming Kannada film on July 9.

The title announcement was supposed to happen on July 3, the day "RangiTaranga" was released last year. But the plans underwent changes as the director was in Singapore to attend the South Indian International Movie Awards.

"It's with a lot of pride that I announce the production company for our upcoming film - Jollyhits Productions - The people responsible for the overseas release of RangiTaranga, ‪#‎GBSM, ‪#‎UTurn etc! It is believed that the technical team of "RangiTaraga" may work on this project as well. The director's younger brother Nirup Bhandari is expected to star in the movie.

"RangiTaranga" was the sleeper hit in Sandalwood in 2015. The movie was released on July 3, a week before the magnum opus "Baahubali" hit the screens worldwide with a bang. The Kannada movie was initially affected by the multilingual movie directed by SS Rajamouli.

But "RangiTaranga" managed to get good word-of-mouth reviews and continued to perform in the later weeks. In the end, Anup Bhandari's film became one of the biggest hits of Sandalwood. The film also proved that there was a market for Sandalwood films outside India by doing a record business in the United States.

The mystery thriller featured Nirup Bhandari, Avantika Shetty, Radhika Chetan and Saikumar in important roles.
