Aamir Khan starrer "Rang De Basanti" will complete 10 years of its release this Republic Day as it hit the screens for the first time on 26 January, 2006. Director Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra along with his "Rang De Basanti" team to reunite on Monday to celebrate.

"Time flies, 10 years and feels like yesterday. We are 10 years older and 'Rang de Basanti' remains relevant. It was destiny to be part of a movie that became a movement," Mehra told IANS.

Apart from the "Dangal" actor, the film featured Waheeda Rehman, Siddharth Narayan, Kunal Kapoor, Sharman Joshi, Atul Kulkarni, R Madhavan and Soha Ali Khan in lead roles. It also starred British actress Alice Patten in a pivotal role.

"Rang De Basanti" storyline is about a British Documentary filmmaker who comes to India to make a film on Indian freedom fighters. The actors for her documentary are a group of friends who gets driven from those characters in real life and fights for justice.

The movie won many awards and AR Rahman's soundtracks made it the best movie of all times. Meanwhile, the team will gather for a press conference on Monday and it has been reported that Aamir, who is shooting for "Dangal" in Delhi, will fly down to attend the reunion.

"Oscar-winning composer AR Rahman is also expected to be a part of the press conference. And a grand party at Mehra's residence is also on the anvil post the conference," a source told IANS.
