The release date of much-awaited movie "Acha Din", starring Mammootty in the lead, has been confirmed. Mammootty posted on Facebook that the movie will hit the screens on 17 July afternoon as the first Ramzan release in Malayalam.
Directed by G Marthandan, "Acha Din" is a complete family entertainer. Set in Ernakulam, the film is said to have an interesting plot.
The film talks about the life of Jharkand native Durga Prasad (Mammootty), who is settled in Kadavanthara in Kochi. The movie plot takes a turn when some unexpected events put him and his friends in trouble.
Debutant Mansi Sharma will play the role of Sheetal, Durga Prasad's wife. Padmaraj Ratheesh, son of veteran actor Ratheesh, will also be seen in pivotal role in the upcoming film. He had made his debut in the 2015 hit movie "Fireman", which had Mammootty in the lead.
"Acha Din" also stars Renji Panicker, Maniyanpilla Raju, Kishore, Kunchan, Saju Navodaya, Sudherr Karamana, P Balachandran, Jaise Jose and Sani Shaki.
Marthandan and Mammootty had earlier joined hands for "Daivathinte Swantham Cleetus" in 2013. The action film was noted for its narrative style and Mammootty's looks and it received mixed reviews from the critics.
This upcoming movie is scripted by AC Vijeesh, who had previously scripted Mammootty's Lal Jose directorial "Immanuel".
