The inaugural edition of the Pro Wrestling League starts off on 10 December, and the first-of-its-kind wrestling tournament in India is expected to draw a lot of interest in the age-old sport of 'kushti'.

Olympic medallists Sushil Kumar and Yogeshwar Dutt remain the big names. Apart from the duo, several other wrestling stars of India -- Geeta Phogat, Amit Dahiya, Narsingh Yadav, Babita Kumari, and so on -- will also be making their presence felt in the lucrative wrestling league.

Ukraine's Oksana Herhel stays the costliest wrestler in the league, after she was snapped up by Team Haryana in the PWL auction for Rs 41.3 lakh.

Six cities are participating in the Pro Kabaddi League, and it was decided on Monday that the national capital will be hosting the opening leg, the playoffs, as well as the final. The semifinals will be held on 25 and 26 December, while the final will take place on 27 December.

The regular league season will start off in Delhi, and move to Ludhiana, Gurgaon, Noida, Mumbai, and culminate in Bengaluru. A total of 18 matches, including 15 in the league phase, will be held during the 17-day tournament
