Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Silicon Valley and the prestigious Stanford University during his six-day visit to the United States in September, PTI reported.

Modi will be in US from 23 September to participate in the United Nations meeting in New York.

On 26 September, after his New York visit, Modi will head to the Silicon Valley in San Francisco Bay Area, which is home to hundreds of global technology companies including Google, Apple and Facebook. The Silicon Valley is also home to about half-a-million Indians.

Modi, who will be the first Indian Prime Minister to visit California in 33 years, will address an estimated 20,000 members of the Indian-American community at the SAP Centre in San Jose.

It is also rumoured that the Prime Minister might be visiting Google and Facebook offices as well.

On 27 September, Modi is expected to make a speech at the famous Stanford University. According to PTI, he will fly back to New York on September 28 for a bilateral meeting with American President Barack Obama.

This will be Modi's second US visit after he won the elections in 2014. During his September 2014 visit, he had received a grand welcome at the New York's Madison Square Garden.
