Salman Khan is ruling the list of Bollywood's top 10 highest grossers of 2015 with two films – "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" and "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo".
Salman starrer "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" has become the second highest grosser of 2015, beating the records of Kangana Ranaut starrer "Tanu Weds Manu Returns" (TWMR).
Kangana and R Madhavan starrer "Tanu Weds Manu Returns", which was released on 22 May, was the first film of this year to cross Rs 100 crore mark and earn Rs 150.77 crore in its lifetime run. Salman's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" later shattered the record of "TWMR" in July, and now it is his second film "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" that broke the records.
Salman's film has earned Rs 155.43 crore in six days from the domestic box office. "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" earned Rs 12.04 crore on Tuesday (sixth day), which took its overall collection to Rs 155.43 crore.
"#PremRatanDhanPayo Thu 40.35 cr, Fri 31.05 cr, Sat 30.07 cr, Sun 28.30 cr, Mon 13.62 cr, Tue 12.04 cr. Total: ₹ 155.43 cr. Hindi version," trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted.
After crossing the Rs 100 crore and Rs 150 crore mark, the film is now looking forward to take it's net box office collection to Rs 200 crore mark. And going by the first week figures, the film should enter the double century club by its second weekend.
"Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" will be the second film of the year (both are Salman's films) to enter the double century mark. Also, it will be Salman's third film to enter Rs 200 crore mark.
Salman's "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" (2015) and "Kick" (2014) are in the coveted Rs 200 crore club.
Directed by Sooraj Barjatya, the film features Salman and Sonam Kapoor in lead roles, while Neil Nitin Mukesh, Anupam Kher, Armaan Kohli, Swara Bhaskar and Deepak Dobriyal are the supporting casts.
