Fast-paced screenplay, energetic fights and glamour are the usual ingredients of a Hari's film. He mixes up those ingredients in right quantity to churn out masala entertainers. His latest movie "Poojai" is no different as it is a typical commercial entertainer.

Story:
"Poojai" has a regular story and treatment but assures entertainment throughout the movie. Vasu (Vishal Krishna) is a money lender and does his business in a vegetable market. The story turns serious after he saves the life of a cop ADSP Sivakkozhundhu (Sathyraj) when baddie Anna Thandavam (Mukesh Tiwari), a contract killer, attacks the cop.

On the other end, it is revealed that the family of Vasu gets into trouble with Anna Thandavam, who wants to eliminate them at any cost. The battle gets electrifying when the hero takes center stage to save his family.

The director gives a feel of watching a different kind of movie in the beginning. As the story progresses, audience realise that it is a regular movie, which is easily predictable in the second half. However, the screenplay is racy in the second half. The story shifts gear every now and then due to romantic and sentimental sequences. Hari brings in comedy scenes to relax the mood of audience and occasionally loses the tempo in the narration.

After being part of a few experimental films, Vishal has done the mass-masala movie, which his fans love the most. His tough looks and acting are the biggest plus points of "Poojai". Shruti Haasan tries to woo audience with her skin show. Raadhika Sarath Kumar and Sathyaraj have done justice to their roles, Mukesh Tiwari and Soori are good. Rest other characters have played their parts well.

Yuvan Shankar Raja's songs do not work well and his background score is okay. Priyan's cinematography is passable and VT Vijayan and TS Jai's editing work is appreciable.

Verdict: "Poojai" is a pure commercial movie and watched by all section of audience.
Rating: 2.5/5

#Poojai - 2.75/5. As expected, this has "Hari" written all over. Pacy, but lacks logic at times. Still fun and enjoyable to watch though.

#Poojai - Looks like Hari lost his sarakku. Sim card, google maps, revenge, flying sumos, over-the-top stunts, earsplitting dialogues - #Old
A botched up concoction of Hari's filmography. Underwhelming romance, mind-numbing action and too much melodrama.
