Indians going for Haj Pilgrimage

The annual Haj pilgrimage begins in Saudi Arabia's Mecca on Tuesday, 22 September, and will continue for five days. Nearly two million people are expected to perform the holy pilgrimage this year. Thousands of Indians perform the pilgrimage each year, and this time, 1,36,020 Indians are expected to take part. Of these, 1,00,020 will be travelling through the Haj Committee of India, while 36,000 Indians are going through private operators. Saudi Arabia cut the pilgrim quota for India and other nations by 20% due to the ongoing expansion works at the Grand Mosque.
