Nagarjuna-Karthi's "Oopiri" has continued to keep the cash registers ringing at the worldwide box office in its second week. But the film is set to face a big threat from "Sardar Gabbar Singh" in its third week.

"Oopiri," which was simultaneously released in Tamil as "Thozha" March 25, received fantastic opening everywhere and showed a decent growth in its business on the following days. Both the versions collected Rs. 43.10 crore gross together at the worldwide box office in the first week. They fetched a share of Rs. 26.75 crore to its distributors.

Trade experts predicted that the collection of "Oopiri" would be halted by "Savitri," "Attack" and couple of other new films, which hit the screens April 1. The movie did witness a drop in business in its second weekend, but the movies still managed to gross better than the second weekend collection of many big ticket releases of the year.

The makers are yet to reveal the second weekend collection of the film. But if we are to go by early estimates, "Oopiri" has collected approximately Rs. 13 crore gross at the worldwide box office in its second weekend, taking its 10-day global total collection to Rs. 56.10 crore gross. The film is estimated to have earned Rs. 36.50 crore to its distributors.

"Oopiri" has reportedly produced with a whopping budget of Rs. 50 crore by PVP Cinema and the movie has earned Rs. 43.30 crore from the sale of its global theatrical rights, according to Andhra Box Office. The movie has recovered 84.29 percent of the investments to its distributors in 10 days. It is expected to earn another six percent in the next four days, making its total share to 90 percent.

However, "Oopiri" may struggle to recover another 10 percent of the investment in its third week. It will clash with "Sardar Gabbar Singh," which is scheduled to release in 2,600 screens across the globe April 8. The Pawan Kalyan starrer will force the Akkineni Nagarjuna starrer out of maximum cinema halls around the world and also divert most of the audience away from it.

"Sardar Gabbar Singh" is the most-awaited Telugu movie of 2016 and its promos have generated lot of curiosity among film-goers. Advance booking for the film was made available Monday morning and it has registered an average of 75 percent of booking for its first weekend within few hours of opening.
