"Castle" Season 8 is on a week's break and will not air any new episode as per schedule this Monday, March 28, 2016. ABC's procedural drama last aired episode 15, "Fidelis Ad Mortem" March 21, 2016 and fans can now expect to watch episode 16, only on April 4, 2016. And when the series returns, Rick and Kate will see Esposito's past coming back to haunt him.
In episode 15 we saw how an NYPD academy recruit gets shot and killed with a gun belonging to a fellow recruit. And Kate put the remaining members through interrogations and mock training drills to hunt down the killer. Meanwhile, Castle told Kate about what he learned in LA and that he knew about LokSat a year ago and he had his memories erased to protect her.
Now, the network has released a synopsis for episode 16, which teases that Rick and Kate will investigate a new murder case that will have links to a case solved by Esposito in the past. This woman was someone the detective was romantically involved with. Now that his fling is revealed, he has no choice but to admit it and help Kate and Rick.
So will he romance the woman again to gain information about this new murder case?
Plot synopsis of "Heartbreaker" (via Spoiler TV) reads: "A clue at the scene of the death of an armored-car driver leads Beckett and Castle back to an old case solved by Esposito. But complications arise when they learn that Esposito might not have been telling them everything about his past with the culprit."
