French car maker Renault unveiled the latest version of its flagship SUV, the Koleos, on Monday at the Beijing International Automobile Exhibition. The company said the new Koleos SUV features a new design, platform, dimensions and a new range of engines. The SUV will be sold in 80 markets.

The design of the new Koleos has been heavily borrowed from the company's Talisman sedan. Renault's diamond logo sits at the centre of the front grille, which is flanked by full LED headlights. The grille features four vertical chrome slats, and a faux skid plate in the lower section of the front bumper lends it the look of an off-roader. The rear gets large tail lights. The raked windscreen section of the current Koleos has been replaced with an upright stance. The new Koleos sits on 19-inch alloy wheels in two-tone design and the wheel arches are fitted with plastic body cladding.

The interior has been spruced up with a large portrait-style central touchscreen. The instrument cluster is now displayed in HD graphics. Renault claims the vehicle has class-leading cabin space. It will come with 4x4 drive system, and a ground clearance of 213mm. Depending on the market, the new Koleos comes with an array of driver assistance options, all of which can be controlled via the R-LINK 2 tablet. This assistance includes emergency brake system, lane departure warning, safe distance warning, traffic sign recognition with excess speed warning, blind spot warning and tiredness detection.

The Koleos is a slow-selling model in Renault's India portfolio primarily because of its steep pricing, which falls in the vicinity of Rs. 26 lakh. The new Koleos is expected to enter India in early 2017.
