Auto enthusiasts in the country are keeping their fingers crossed for the launch of much-awaited premium hatchback Jazz from the house of Honda.

The latest buzz on the internet is that Jazz, which is getting ready to make a comeback in the Indian market, will become the country's second most fuel efficient model with its diesel equipped variant set to deliver a mileage of 27.3kmpl.

As we already know, under the skin of new Honda Jazz would be a 1.2-litre i-VTEC petrol engine that powers Amaze and Brio, and can generate power of 87bhp with a torque of 110Nm at 4,800rpm and 1.5-litre i-DTEC diesel motor. The diesel engine can pump 100PS of power and 200Nm torque.

While the petrol model, which would employ either a 5-speed manual or a CVT with paddle shifters, is tuned to give an ARAI rated mileage of 18.7 kmpl 19 kmpl respectively, the diesel model is expected to clock a mileage of 27.3 kmpl with 6-speed manual transmission.

The mileage figure of Honda jazz is about 8% higher than its City sedan, reports OnCars.in. It is also interesting to note that this new Jazz is the first in the Jazz line-up to come with diesel engine.

The unofficial bookings for Honda new Jazz are underway in the country across the company dealerships with a down payment of ₹21,000-₹50,000. The sources indicate that the new Honda Jazz could be launched with a sticker price of around ₹7.1 lakh (ex-showroom).
